Ben Nevis, Scotland

The tallest peak in Scotland, the UK, and the British Isles is Ben Nevis. Ben Nevis is located near the town of Fort William in the Highland district of Lochaber, at the western extremity of the Grampian Mountains.
Approximately three-quarters of the 150,000 visitors that visit the mountain each year take the Mountain Track from Glen Nevis, making it a well-liked destination .Since 1898, a foot race has been held on the peak.

Located north of Fort William, close to Victoria Bridge, at the base of the mountain, is the Ben Nevis Distillery, a single malt whisky distillery. One of Scotland's first licensed distilleries, it was established in 1825 by John McDonald and is a well-liked tourist destination in Fort William. The Allt a' Mhuilinn, a creek that emerges from the northern corrie of Ben Nevis, provides the water used to produce the whisky.In contrast, Bridge of Allan, which is close to Stirling, is where "Ben Nevis" 80/- organic ale is brewed.
The group of immigrants who would later become the Wends of Texas were sent in 1854 by a White Star Line packet ship named Ben Nevis.Since then, the name has been used on at least eight more vessels.
