Isle Of Iona, Scotland

Off the southwest coast of Mull sits the little island of Iona in the Inner Hebrides. It is only 1.5 miles wide by 3 miles long, and it is home to roughly 170 permanent residents. Despite this, Iona has a special place in the hearts of many people all around the world. We hope that this website will introduce you to something new and encourage you to return, regardless of whether you have been the island previously or are a frequent visitor.

A little, charming island off Mull's southwest shore is the Isle of Iona. Explore Iona Abbey, which is well-known for its deep and long-standing Christian ties, or travel to the northern shore, which is home to stunning bays and beaches with the greatest views of the ocean.

Three residential centers are operated by the Iona Community on Mull and the Isle of Iona, where residents from all over the globe can live together. Weeks at the centers often follow a schedule that addresses issues facing the Iona Community.

In February 2008, Ronald Rae's eight-ton sculpture of the Fallen Christ was placed permanently outside the MacLeod Centre.
