Stockholm City Hall, Sweden

In Stockholm, Sweden, the Stockholm Municipality is housed in Stockholm City Hall. It faces the islands of Riddarholmen and Södermalm and is located on the easternmost point of Kungsholmen island, adjacent to the northern shore of Riddarfjärden. It has ceremonial halls, conference rooms, and offices. It is one of the main tourist destinations in Stockholm and the location of the Nobel Prize dinner. The National Romantic style is exemplified by Stockholm City Hall. The location's view of Riddarfjärden served as the inspiration for a major motif, which is the contrast between the city's architecture and the water, which is a key element of Stockholm's overall cityscape.

With 10,270 pipes, the organ in the Blue Hall is the biggest in Scandinavia. The Golden Hall (Gyllene Salen), so called because of the ornamental mosaics composed of almost 18 million tiles, is located above the Blue Hall. Swedish historical elements are used in the mosaics. After Gottfried Heinersdorff (1883–1941) negotiated the commission for nine years, they were carried out by the Berlin, Germany, business of Puhl & Wagner (Gottfried Heinersdorff).
